Asheville Aces Statistics and History
The Asheville Aces were a minor professional hockey team based in Asheville, North Carolina, playing in the inaugural 2004-05 season of the Southern Professional Hockey League. The Aces were a founding member of the league.
The Aces were originally owned by David Waronker, but was sold on January 22, 2005 to an ownership group made up of several investors including Dr. Richard Hoodenpyle, based in Asheville, and several other people based in Colorado.
Following the 2004-05 season, the Asheville Aces ceased operations because they could not come to an agreement with the Ashville Civic Center regarding rent and improvements to the building.
