Los Angeles Monarchs Statistics and History [WHL]
The Los Angeles Monarchs were a Minor Professional hockey team based in Los Angeles, CA playing in the Pacific Coast Hockey League from 1944 to 1950. The team played in the Pan Pacific Auditorium.
Following the 1949-50 season, the San Diego Skyhawks and San Francisco Shamrocks folded. The Oakland Oaks had previously withdrawn from the PCHL in December. The final shoe dropped when the Fresno Falcons announced that they would suspend operations. Since this left only the Los Angeles Monarchs inthe division, the team was forced to suspend operations - although owner Charlie Cord applied to play in the northern division, the northern teams were not interested in traveling to the Los Angeles to play just one team.
