Regina Capitals/Vancouver Maroons Statistics and History
The Regina Capitals were a hockey team that started the 1932-33 season in the brand-new Western Canada Hockey League, managed by Kenny MacKenzie. The Capitals were the first professional team to play in Regina since the Prairie Hockey League had disbanded in 1928.
Attendance was weak, reportedly 10,232 fans across seven games (1,461 per game), and on Jan 19, the team announced that it would move to Vancouver, becoming the Vancouver Maroons. The Capitals were on a road trip at the time, and finished the trip under their old name, officially becoming the Maroons following a game on January 27, 1933.
