Yeah, I remember calling O'Brien about 3-4 years ago and asked how he was doing and politely asked whether he would mind signing some items for me if I were to mail them to him.

His reply, "I've got a desk here full of crap the Bruins and North Stars alumni keep sending me to get signed and don't have the time to do it".

One would think that a career #6 defenseman would be flattered that the fans even remember him at all...he's one miserable SOB.

That really is too bad that guys have to be that way. It is basically like you werent a top player, but some kid coulda really looked up to him not even knowing he was that good. But I guess ya can't help having some jerks out there.

Yes he never signs ,he doesn`t live far from me in or near Port Colborne.
He has something to do with Jr. A hockey.He is a very good friend of Don Cherry`s
