seeing the endless listings of Sidney Crosby cards on eBay? He's got Rookie Review cards, Futuro Italy cards, CJHL Canadian Hockey League cards, OMR Rookie cards, Ice Futures cards, Midget AAA cards etc. each in 10 different colors acting as parallel cards and all claiming to be his "rookie card".
I'm not sure why this annoys me so much, but it does. It's almost painfully to actually scan the minor league card section on eBay in search of ACTUAL minor and junior hockey cards - not ones that come from a magazine or are produced in somebody's basement.
I think Sidney Crosby is a great player and I certainly recognize that this is not his doing, that being said, I hope the NHL comes back soon if for no other reason than that Sidney Crosby can have actual rookie cards in eBay's NHL section and minor league collectors like ourselves can have our section back. Of course, Phil Kessel is already screwing that plan up but dare to dream.
There's my two cents worth, any other thoughts?
