Hold off on Mike Richter

I sent request to Richter using address on a recent thread. I too received a letter from his mother. She returned my 2 cards unsigned in my sase saying Mike had gone back to school and won't be back until the summer. She was nice enough to include 2 cards Mike had signed so it wasn't a total loss. I would've preferred her leaving the request for his return but it's no biggy. I'll try again in May or June.

thats weird, i got mine back a couple of weeks ago and the card i sent him was signed, along with another card he added and the note from his mom... I'm thinking maybe he went home for Christmas.

Mike's Mom has been doing that for years. If you luck out and happen to send it while he is home you might get your cards back signed but 98% of the time she sends cards that were already signed by Mike.

This happened to me in 2005. I sent it in December and received my cards signed about a month later.

That's 2 years in a row, so if you are collecting a set and want specific cards signed, send before Christmas. Otherwise, try during the summer as I'm sure he'd visit at some point then.

If you don't care, then send anytime and you will get some autographs in return as he signs a bunch and leaves them. I think it's great they do that for the fans!
