Sergei Priakin. I know this is a second post (I'm still trying to figure this site out), but I thought I'd try to double my chances of someone seeing it!! Flames player in early 90's, member of 89 Cup team, played for the Espoo Blues in Finland in late 90's, that's the last thing I've been able to find. I tried to email the Espoo people but I can't read a thing on their website. Any help anyone's got is much appreciated! Thanks.

I don't know where Priakin is but if I really needed him, I'd try through the Carolina Hurricanes. They have the Priain Trophy which they hand out every year for something like the most underrated or nicest slapshot or something like that. The trophy is only 2 or 3 years old. I'd assume that a team that would name a trophy after one of it's past players would keep in touch with that player.

Sergei played in Paul Stewart's alumi game at Harvard University a few months ago for the Gazprom Export russian team. You might want to look into future games this team may be playing. Sergei signed 4 cards for me and was friendly, although I don't think he speaks much english!

Hey, about those Sergei Priakin cards he signed for you, were any of them as a member of the Flames. If so, would you be interested in selling? If not, disregard... But in the future, if you were planning to attend the Good Will Games again next year and he were still playing for the Russian team, maybe you could help me out with grabbing an auto for me... ?

Quick revisit of this thread that's several years old already. I am still searching for an autographed Sergei Priakin card. It is the last one I need to complete my 1989 Flames Stanley Cup autographed card frame hanging in my office. You had mentioned that he signed 4 cards for you. Do you still have them and would it be possible to purchase one from you???? Thanks!!!! Clarke

Not sure how much time you've investing in looking for him, but I have tried several avenues to find where he is. Heard he could be coaching some lower division hockey in Russia (can't find anything about him on Russian hockey team websites), perhaps playing on a touring Russian all-star team (Gazprom, but it was about 5 years ago), and so far that's about it. I just posted a "wanted" listing on Calgary's craigslist.com. Been searching eBay for 4 years and have called card shops around the Calgary area....... not sure what more to try to be honest!! Hoping for a miracle some day!

Okay, after all this time I finally found the address to an office in Russia where Sergei Priakin is an "Honored Master of Coaching" for the Soviet Wings Junior Hockey School. I know it's probably a long-shot, but I've got a letter translated into Russian and I'm gonna send it... maybe one day it will come back! Either way, at least I can say I tried my best! Wish me luck.... :)
