I'm customizing Buffalo Sabres and Montreal Canadiens team sets for my Stiga table hockey game and I need some info:
Did either team have players' names on the sweaters that season?
Which sweater colors were used for home and away that season?
Thanks for your help.

White sweaters were home jerseys and definately no names. I looked in media guides from 72/73 and 73/74.

Am I correct in assuming that those media guides list team rosters? If so, please list Buffalo's defencemen for the 72/73 and 73/74 seasons.
Again, thanks for all your help. I was an avid fan back then, but the old memory is failing me!

I appreciate the info. Between the Sabres Alumni site and the Legends of Hockey site I had come up with all but Pratt and McKay (who spent all but 1 game in Cincinnati) for '72/'73. Legends of Hockey says that Robitaille and Horton were paired, but being a huge Schoeny fan, I have to have him but don't have a clue who he skated with. I'm guessing that as he was a rookie, they may have tried a variety of pairings. I will go with either Horton or Pratt. I like TH for his choice in cars and his peanut doughnuts (as well as his hockey skills!), but I do remember Pratt from the earliest days of the franchise. Their stats for that season are oddly similar. JS actually had more points than either.
I was originally going with '73/'74 so I could have Jerry 'King Kong' Korab with Schoenfeld, but then I remembered that Ken Dryden sat out that season and I have to have the Dryden brothers in the nets! So I'm going with '72/'73. The French Connection make up the rest of my Sabres lineup. For Montreal I have Pete Mahovlich, Guy LaFleur, Steve Schutt, Guy LaPointe and Larry Robinson.
Once again, thank you for all your assistance.

Here's a quote from the Schoenfeld bio in the 73/74 guide
"Schoenfeld was a regular from his opening day in camp. He teamed with the ageless Tim Horton, and says he was fortunate to get a quick course in how to play defense from his long-time all-star partner."
And yes 72/73 was his rookie year, finished 4th in ROY voting.
Also mentions that he recorded a rock album, singing and playing guitar. Maybe you can find one of those in the Buffalo area!

I forgot about the record! As I recall it got a fair amount of local airplay, but I didn't buy one. Shame on me. Later on he was the TV spokesman for a local mattress/furniture chain, even after he left the area. He seemed like a nice guy for someone who was such a maniac, always throwing himself in front of shots.
The quote you mention seals it: Tim Horton will be my other D-man.
I appreciate all your help.

You're welcome
It gave me a reason to go back and read some of those old guides.
