Greetings Guys:

I sent Reg Lemelin an 06-07 Parkhurst card and I got back the card, unsigned and the following letter:

"Dear Adam

I'm sorry but the card you have enclosed is not me. it is a mistake made by the card company. The actual player on the card is Yves Belanger who played shortly for the Flames prior to my arrival in Atlanta. I hope you understand why I did not sign the card. I'll be glad to sign any other cards that you may have of me....Thanks, Reg"

This was very thoughtful of him! Thought it would be cool to share this with you guys.

happy collecting
Adam

The Darryl Sutter card from the same set is not him either. I asked him to sign it a year ago when the set came out and he said "that's not me". There may be other cards in this set with incorrect photos as well.

It's nice he explained why he didn't sign the card. A few years ago I sent a card to former Cleveland Indians closer Doug Jones to sign. He sent it back saying the same thing, its not me pictured on the card, but send another and I will sign it.

I got the same letter.

That's not Sutter on his card? I have an autographed one (pack pulled.) I'm surprised he signed them.

I had a similar experience with Bryan Maxwell back when he was coach of the Victoria Salmon Kings. I had sent him 2 cards, a few months later I had letter written by someone from the team explaining that he would not sign the one card (his WHA RC) but he was kind enough to sign my other card and he included a signed coaching card from his time in the WHL.

It is truly amazing how many cards out there have the wrong guy pictured.
