i WOULDN'T BE TOO SURE ABOUT THAT...HE SIGNED TWO FOR ME EARLIER THIS YEAR. MAYBE I JUST GOT HIM AT A GOOD TIME OR HAD A GOOD LETTER. WHO KNOWS. I WENT THRU HIS AGENT IN OTTAWA.

Hey Rook, you don't really have much of a chance at getting the current superstars of the league to sign through the mail. It is much easier to get the guys who are underated. I prefer to get the guys that arent well known or haven't received any credit, and I know it makes alot of those guys feel good, the current players and the retired. I have received back all kinds of letters thanking me for the letter I sent and that the are very happy to sign. Guys like Randy Velischek, Gordie Roberts, Phil Bourque, Marc Bergevin, Kelly Buchberger, Daniel Berthuiame, Joe Mullen, and such are the real type of hockey players that I like to acknowledge. Good Luck in your collecting.

It's a little off the subject, but did anyone read the article in ESPN the Magazine about Yzerman a few months back? A father contacted Steve when he was still playing through the Make a Wish Foundation. Steve winds up being extremely generous to this child, who has terminal cancer. He brings him to practices, gives him tickets to games and let's him in the Locker Room afterwards, all great stuff. A nice story, we've seen it all before...... Until you reach the kicker....The father was faking the kid's cancer. He had the kid's school, everyone in the community, and Yzerman believing this kid had cancer, and had the kid, who was something like 7 or 8, believing he was really sick. It turns out he kidnapped the kid during a custody dispute, and had him believing that he couldn't see his mother because she couldn't take the grief. It was one of the most deranged things I've ever heard of. If you guys get the chance, you should check it out.

By the way, midnightoyl, I'll be using those stamps for that addy!
