I was surprised that someone got a success from him. I tried him several times and always received the dreaded postcard and unsigned cards. Anyone else received a positive reply?

I just got back from him a couple of weeks ago. He signed 2 of 2. I was surprised as well because when I had tried him through Calgary I received the postcard thing too.... twice (first was unsigned and the 2nd time around he thankfully signed the postcard).
