According to the New York Times (if anyone in Canada has better information, please post), letter carriers in all four of the Atlantic provinces, in parts of Quebec and in Edmonton, Vancouver and Victoria are now on strike. It also reported that mail carriers in Montreal and Calgary, where the strike began, have gone back to work. This might be some of the problem with slow or no returns from those areas. So far, no disruption of service between the US and Canada has been reported, but if it goes on or broadens, both postal services might start returning mail.

That's good to hear, because the very first line of the NYT story said it "letter carriers" that were on strike.

Yeah, in Winnipeg, our office workers are on strike, but we've kept getting mail. Come to think of it, though, I don't think I've had a success since they went on strike :P

I wish the US and Canadian Postal Services would merge sort of like the the Union in Europe. It would make life easier.

A US/Canada/Mexico universal monetary system would help everyone but it will never happen.
