Are there any members that recall the Windsor Maple Leafs from Windsor, Nova Scotia. They played in the Nova Scotia Senior Hockey League in the late 50's and early 60's. Simon Nolet played on the team for a couple of years before moving to the NHL.

Yes - I was not yet born yet when they played, but I heard a lot about them. I have collected and saved the stats from those days because I had relatives who played in the League at the same time.

A few years ago, I had the pleasure of speaking to a member of those great winning teams - Frank Barteaux. Frank was a local area player (from Windsor), but also one of the better players on the team. Until only a few years ago, he played a lot of oldtimers games and tournaments. It was a rare game when he did not show at least one goal on the game summary. Some guys just have a knack for scoring. He was one of them - as were Simon Nolet and Jacques Allard.

Nolet was simply sensational at the Sr. and Minor-Pro levels. His career was inter-twined with that of Andre Lacroix through the Quebec Aces and early Flyer days. I always thought they could have burned up the WHA much more than Lacroix did alone if they would have been signed by the same team.
