View Full Version : Bad Time?

Over the Christmas Holidays it is the worst time I find to send out cards and to expect anything in return.

It's been about a month since I have received anything through the mail.

I have a couple out now that I thought I would have back, but maybe it's just a slow time. These have been out for about 3 months now.

Mike Richter
Felix Potvin
Daniel Sedin
Alex Tanguay
Bill Ranford
Rod Gilbert (with $10)
Peter Forsberg (with $10)
Marian Hossa
Pavel Datsyuk
Kris Versteeg

I guess I will just have to wait it out. That's the hardest part!

Like you, I've had nothing in the box for a while. Nothing from any sport since 12/29 and I've got plenty out there. The only two names on your list that are on mine are Richter and Potvin. Richter usually takes some time so I'm not giving up on that one. Potvin, however, has never answered me and I wrote to the team address where people were reporting successes back in the Fall with no response. I've also not heard from Gilmour (c/o Marlies but others have reported sucesses that were forwarded), Corson (c/o Tappo's) and a few others. Maybe you're right - it's not the season to be jolly - or at least send out autograph requests.

I've had Richter, Potvin and Datsyuk out since last spring/summer.

Yeah, I've also had long term requests out to Datsyuk and Potvin.

Gilmour is now the coach in Kingston (Frontinacs).
I sent to him about 2 months ago when he got the job. He replied within 2 weeks. I would try him there.

I just recieved PK Subban c/o his OHL team. In about a week.

Got Shane Corson back today, 1/1 from Tappo's. This is my first autograph related piece of mail in 17 days - of course the bills still come. This is the longest drought I can remember.

My best day of autographed card in the mail was a day in April 2008 when I was absolutely shocked when I got 24 cards back signed in the mail. It was crazy. But the longest I have gone without getting anything was almost 2 months.

I still haven't received any successes in the new year, despite having a bunch out there.

I'm surprised that I didn't receive any long outstanding returns this year, as in past years, I've found that many athletes use the holidays as a chance to catch up on mail.
