All I can say is wow ! Unfortunately upper deck probably brought it and will cut all of the signatures up and stick them onto cards and ruin it.

I was the underbidder on this item. It has a Steamer Maxwell autograph in there that wasn't advertised properly. I was disappointed that I didn't end up with the winning bid.

How rare is a Steamer Maxwell signature? Just wondering.

I've only ever seen one other one. I would say it is probably a $1,000 autograph on its own.

He died when he was in his 80's, so there should be more of his signatures out there somewhere !

You'd think so, but so did Clint Benedict. And I've only ever seen two of those signatures. The last one I saw sold for $1,200.

You are correct, either UD or ITG is famous for buying up

If they can cut up the only pair of Georges Vezina pads, then clearly nothing is sacred. But you can always put a positive spin on it. Rather than having it sit in someone's house untouched for decades, they are using it to please hundreds of collectors by allowing them to go to market in their cards. I personally don't think it's such an awful thing, and it's the basic principle of being a card dealer. Everyone knows that the sum of the parts is far greater than the value of the whole.

vezina pads should have been donated to the hockey hall of fame.
