Hi guys,
I'm sending 8 x 10's in the mail for the first time. What will happen to them when they come back? Will the postman bend them so they fit in the box or will they be put in a special box or left at the post office for pickup? Any tips?
I'm going to write "DO NOT BEND" but I assume that isn't always respected.

I'd send it in a bubble mailer with cardboard on either side, It's damn near impossible to bend it then, and they should put it away at the post office with notice for you to pick it up.

Definately put cardboard in the return envelope. A comic book protector piece of cardboard is a nice size and is tough to bend. The bubble mailer works well but may increase the postage cost as it may be too thick for regular rates.
Make sure do not bend is as big as you can make it with a thank you under it. I've been lucky and only ever had one slightly bent using that approach.

Thanks for the ideas guys. I'm gonna try my luck with cardboard as too not increase the postage too much.

When i sent my 8X10 request to Guy Carbonneau, I put 4 stamps on the return envelope thinking it would be enough, but when i got to the post office to mail it they made me add more money in postage, but somehow I still got my request back, now i just just add 5 stamps there and 5 stamps for the trip back, have not had a problem with this, and I use bubble mailers and cardboard.

I went out and spent $40 on a postal scale so I don't need to worry about not having enough postage on the things I send out.
This the one I picked up, but it was from Walmart http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/cat_sku.asp?CatIds=&webid=478657&affixedcode=WW

A 9x11 envelope inside a 10x13 envelope with a letter,an 8x10 photo and a piece of comic book cardboard will weigh less than 100 grams and cost 1.18 to Canada and 1.96 to the U.S.
A padded envelope will cost more based on thickness ,not weight but I agree with Lafleurfan10 most of the time no one at Canada Post will check and it will go through fine.
Another thing is to try and make sure your mailbox will hold an 9x11 envelope without it needing to be bent to fit in the box.
