Today I received a puck back from Bobby Clarke, sent c/o the Flyers (returned in 12 days). Sadly he signed the back of the puck, not the logo side as I had hoped. Would it be rude for me to send the puck back and ask him to sign the front? Does this happen a lot? Should I include a line in the letter for them to sign the front?
Thanks.

i would keep the one he sent, wait a while and send a new puck asking him to sign the front....he seems to sign in weird spots. i sent him a nice card and rather than signing right in the middle where it would have looked nice, he signed it going upwards on the side of the card

I had two players sign it there too..I thought perhaps they did not want to sign on the logo? Some do not have a problem with it.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll add a line in my letters asking the players to please sign the front of the card. Hopefully this will take care of any future issues. I'll wait until the fall then try Clarke again, but I think I'll try sending this puck out to Bill Barber and see if he'll sign the front. Does anyone have a home address for him?
Thanks again.

Clarke does sign strange sometimes, backs of cards, upside down and sideways, but he is always automatic!

Hey folks
Who cares where he signs it the bottom line is he signed it.
We probably should not ask in our letters for personalizations, placements or pen types etc.
That should be reserved for these autograph sessions at shows.
I met Mr.Clarke in Toronto and got a beautiful auto on my card with HOF year in the pen I wanted.
Let's just be happy with what we get.
It's good that he signs TTM

I am new to the TTM game, so I defer to your judgement, Polarmist. I agree that when sending a photo or card it would seem presumptuous to ask "please sign in gold in the white part of the ice to the right of your right skate." To me, however, it seems different to include a pen and ask the player to sign the front of a puck.
Thoughts?
P.S. Thank you for the address, Kahuna!

I'm with you on that one. Players are very nice to sign TTM. If I was one of them with a lot of request ( Bob Clarke) and every people who send me request told me where to sign, please add this and that etc I'll be piss....
