Carl Repp, split his only professional season between the IHL and AHL was a lefty.

Greg Hirsch was a back-up goaltender for the University of Maine. He never got much playing time behind Blair Allison, but he was a lefty. He got into a handful of games in the mid 90s.

By the way, I played against Avi Karunakar in a scrimmage or two in the late 90s in Richmond, VA and he was not left handed.

Bill Durnan was ambidextrous and would often switch the hand he held his stick depending on which side of the ice the play was. Any pics of him will show he had 2 equal size gloves. There is also a great story about Gordie Howe (also ambidextrous) coming down on a breakaway and Durnan switched his stick for an advantage and Howe switched hands and scored.

Hi there !

I just checked my cards and found following:

Thorsten Apel , Markus Bachschmied , Udo Dohler , Ladislav Guda , Markus Kothmayr , Josef Lucak , Markus Nachtmann , Carl Repp , Dave Roach , Lukas Smolka , David Trofimenkoff , Tomas Vasicek , Dirk Voss.

I can also confirm follows:

Ken Broderick , Markus Mattsson , Roland Meyer , Terry Richardson

I can also confirm Bill Durnan. I found two different cards. One of them Bill was holding the stick in right hand and in the other left hand.

But I can't confirm Hannu Kamppuri one. My opinion is that Hannu was left catcher.

Lynn , check one name ... it should be: Sinuhe Wallinheimo.

Best regards , Kari from Helsinki

thats interesting. how could he pull that off?did he have a catcher and a blocker that could be worn on either hand?

Durhan had special gloves made that acted as blockers and the inside (glove part) was made with heavier padding. I'll see if I have a pic and forward it to you roaddogg
