Ricci plays for San Jose not Phoenix smart guy. The reason his face looks the way it does is because he has heart and isn't afraid to put his body on the line for the good of the team (whether the team sucks or not).

Absolutely guys! Just as Harv said, it's guys like Ricci and Shanny that you want on your team when it's crunch time. Hockey isn't about looking pretty, it's about heart. I can't imagine hating somebody with as much heart as Mike Ricci.

I gotta prob with someone who dislikes Mario, this man comes and takes a team of nothing to the top as a teenager, wins a cup, at his prime is told he has cancer , takes the therapy, comes back that day of his last treatment and lights up the flyers that year he score 160 points in 60 games, fights off numerous battles with injuries, retires as a scoring champ due to injuries, comes back takes the pens to the final four that year, dominates the next at the olympics, caries the pens on his back for years

he defines character and courage and that makes him a perfect role model and my hero

i know you've beaten it to death, but ricci is the polar opposite of a player you hate. you wouldn't even hate him if he scored the stanley cup-winner against your team because he's a pure hockey player, and you have to respect that.

about mario: he is truly one of the best ever, but even i find myself criticizing him once in a while because he sometimes looks lazy on the ice, only showing interest when there's a scoring opportunity. maybe it's because he's in a lot of pain, but it just seems sometimes he doesn't skate as hard as he could.

I don't see how people can hate somebody like Pavel Bure...unless they're a fan of the team he used to light up everytime he stepped on to the ice.

I could never stand people like Adam Foote...a cheap shot defensemen, but I understand that's how you have to play a lot of the time to make it in the NHL, but at the same time, I never liked him..

I could never stand Brendan Shannahan, either.

It's me, the unregistered guest again. Come to think of it, I saw that these posts were dated a while back, but I had a change of heart over the last few seconds. I don't really dislike Ian Moran as he is a very nice and funny guy apparently, just didn't like when he was a Pen, and yes I know he stunk. Brian Skrudland...He embodied everything that was wrong with the NHL for so many years, a no talent player that survived by clutching, grabbing, hooking and suffocating his opponents. He and the rest of the Panthers in 1994 ruined hockey while the NJ Devils perfected boredom in 1995 and subsequent years. Finally, we get to see an exciting game again.
