I read an article that all 4 networks (ABC, NBC, Fox and CBS) have had the NHL at some point.

I know about ABC, NBC and Fox, I wasn't aware that CBS ever had them.

Does anyone have a "timeline" of TV network coverage of the NHL over the years (both network and cable would be cool). Thanks.

From what you listed, and some other stuff I got:

Network:
CBS: Late 60's-Early 70's
NBC: 1972-1975
CBS: 1980 (1 Stanley Cup Game)
NBC: 1991-1993 (All Star Games Only)
ABC: 1994-1995
Fox: 1996-1999
ABC: 2000-2004
NBC: 2005-2006

Cable:
ESPN - 1979-1982
USA Network: 1982-1985
ESPN - 1985-1988
SportsChannel America: 1988-1992
ESPN: 1992-present
ESPN2: 1994-present

I think I have the ABC info right, they had ESPN produce some weekend afternoon games for them in 94 & 95 only, before Fox actually started paying for it themselves.

I got the CBS info from someone at the NHL. They didn't have any exact dates, other than 1 Cup game in 80.

Other than that though, it would appear there was NO national TV of the NHL in the mid-late 70s. Anyone confirm or update that?

The NHL would have to go really downhill to be broadcasted on the womens channel. That would be tragic.
