I'm pretty sure that I saw ads for this a while back on CBC. Does anyone know when it will be coming on?

Unless I'm completely wrong, It's Canada, a People's History, and it's a six part movie series that shows the growth of Canada as a country. (I've seen 5 and 6) It is on eveything from fur trading to the War of 1812. Perhaps there is a Hockey, a People's histroy, but I think you got it mixed of with this, and as far as I know, it has nothing to do with hockey and ends about 50 years before Lord Stanley became Governer General. Canada, a People's History was also produced by CBC, which is why you might have heard something like there. Hopefully, this will help you.

Yes, they have books about that series too. What I was asking about was a new series on the history of hockey that is apparently being put together by the producers of that series, which I would have sworn I saw an ad for during the playoffs.

Perhaps you're right... I watched alot of playoff hockey on CBC yet I never saw a commercial for it. Try searching google, for it (I'm about to search it right now) I'll post something if I can find it. I would like to see this if it really does exist.

Okay, here's what I got while searching www.google.ca (Exerpt taken from www.globeandmail.com/ervlet/ArticleNews/TPPrint/LAC/20040619/TRUTH19/TPSports/)
Hockey doc a go
CBC Television has given the green light to a documentary series on the history of hockey, sources have confirmed.
The series will be a bilingual production in English and French consisting of 10 one-hour segments. It is scheduled to be aired in January, 2006, several weeks before the Turin Olympics. Mark Starowicz, who produced Canada: A People's History, will be the executive producer.
So I guess you're right, but I have one more question; why would CBC air a commercial for something two years into the future? Anyway, this should answer your question.

Hockey: A People's History will air in the fall of 2006. It was supposed to air before the olympics in January or February but, probably due to the strike they had, they had to push the date back. The advertisements have been on during the playoffs, a little premature I think lol. I am in episodes 1 and 3, so I can't wait for it to air. Hope that answers your questions.
