Gee, this coming from the loser who can't even come up with an oringinal name.
I find it incredible that we can even keep pace with you guys, when you have so much more funding, so much more people, and SO MUCH MORE DRUGS AND STERIODS, then us,
Its incredible Canada does keep up in some International events.
I will take an honest Hard working 4th Place Canadian over a drugged up Cheating 1st place American any day.

lol, that's the way Harvs. Although most American athletes are clean and I root for them in the Summer Olympics, my loyalties lie with Team Canada in every international hockey tournament. If you even think the US has a chance to beat Canada, you have a major screw loose. Miracles only happen three times. The US used up theirs in the '60 games in Squaw Valley and the infamous Lake Placid games and the 96 World Cup. Coach Wilson himself sees Canada as the favorites. Grassvalue, WTF is with your username, and WTF do the Summer Olympics have to do the World Cup of Hockey? I know Harvey already covered this, but our nation does only have a little under 10X the population of Canada. I know it may be difficult for a brain such as yours, but if you do the math, Canada should have gotten about 1/10 the medals we got. By the way, we had 103 medals, not 113 jackass. I think Canada did pretty well given they do live in "The Great White North." That doesn't sound like much of a haven for summer sports to me. Not to mention the fact that the athletes in America had at least 10X the money to train and prepare with. Just out of curiosity, what does it feel like to have a negative IQ? I think you should stick to hanging out with Ed L Roy, then again, you probably are Ed L Roy. You remind me of a South Park episode where a guy received an award for being the biggest douche in the universe. It's about time he step aside though, there's a new douche in town. I'll make it simple for you just in case you didn't understand what I just said. Basically, you are the biggest douche in the universe. To answer you question SBarrett, Canada will win it all. Thank you for at least sounding intelligent Barrett, much unlike many of the unregistered assholes. I appreciate all of you good posters out there.

Unfortunately, our goverment doesn't support that athletes like Americans do, I wish we had a system like you guys, Thats one thing I really like about the US, you treat your atheltes the way they should be treated.
and Grasvalue, I'll see you in the 2006 Torino Games, Winter is where we shine. in 2002 the medals were 34-17, incase you can't do math thats 2-1... and we beat the US 15-13 in 1998. Not bad for a country with a tiny population.
I will take this time to mention to everybody (I know this is a hockey forum and not olympics but here it goes). The IOC (International Olympic Commette), are creating these Meseum/Attrations around the world, they are similar to a hall of fame, they have historical videos, event used equipment, games and entertainment, etc.. They are solely dedicated to the Olympic Games. Each will be over 50% directed to the native country. These will be poping up every where so look out for them, the prototype has already opened right here in Canada, Toronto to be specific. Its the very first, they expect to put these up in places like London, Paris, Moscow, and New York, very soon.
You how stingant the IOC is with using the Olympic brand on anything, so these should be good.
Here is the link to a site that follows the Olympic Games Bidding Process and is currently following the 2012 race.

d to be high on the Olympics but now it seems like a joke at times. There is a part of the coverage that covers who got caught cheating like there is no disgrace any more. If you're not going to win cheat and maybe it will slip through and you can win. What happened to the spirit of the games where wars were stopped so athletes could complete on a level field.

I'll say Canada vs USA, the 1996 rematch. Canada should pull it out. It'll be a good match.
the refs on their side? thats gotta be the oldest excuse in the book. Canada has been dominating in almost every part of the game, only 3 goals against and a perfect penalty kill.

are you done your pathetic attempts at bashing Canada? oh gee, you used the word 'gay'.
I happened to be at the Canada v Czech game live! and I'll tell you, the czechs came out hard, they played extremely well but in the end, canadian hard work paid off.
With respects to Finland, they don't have alot of depth, they have been double-shifting the top line alot, they can't handle that forever, or a whole game vs canada with their physical play. Plus, we'll have a healthy Marty Brodeur to counter Kipper, the tournaments best two goalies, the way it should be.

GOOOOOOO CANADA!!!
I'm going to state it plain and simple: Ed, you're a f*cking moron. Go do the world a favor and kill yourself. It'll make your family happier, it'll make most of us happier. I've heard people say that every family has a bad apple, you are undoubtedly your family's. And Ed, don't even pretend to be French Canadian. You told me you were a Nevada Union grad, that right there rules out any possibility of you being French Canadian. That would hint to the fact that there was any culture at Nevada Union. The one thing I've learned from you over the past few months is that you're 100% full of sh!t. You're a life-long Lightning fan for Games 1&2, Flames after 3, Lightning after 4, Flames again fan after Game 5, and then once more,, you're a life-long Lightning Fan after Games 6&7. If you're French Canadian, I'm King Louis XIV.
At know point did Harvey ever say anything derogitory towards you Québecois. But I can cover that for him. That's the problem with you French Canadians, you take everything as a direct attack against you and are therefore generally pissed off at the rest of the world. NEWS FLASH: You're not French! Do you even realize that France wants nothing to do with you? You're Canadian and should be damn proud of it! And if you can't read English, join the real world, where nearly every western civilization speaks English. And if you don't want to speak English, that's fine. don't bug those of us that do. I have nothing against any of you, in fact, generally I kind of like you, but stop horassing the rest of the world, because the rest of the world really doesn't care what you have to say.

Who's French who's Canadian and who hates the Quebecers? Its unbelieveable how quick people will jump on you, oh and Frenchie, I want an explanation why you jumped on me like that, you know darn well I said nothing anti-french, I don't need crap like that. I also happen to know that you were the one posing as G.V. and pulled that bullsh*t line "the refs are on Canada's side"

Canada has won the World Cup of Hockey, going a perfect 6-0. We never trailed at any time. Canada have also won the 2003 and 2004 World's and the 2002 Olympics thats 4 straight major international Mens Hockey events. So if there is any question who the dominate Hockey power is, there isn't now. Canada all the way.

Like Harvey said, Ed is not French Canadian because he's made up crap like that before. As far as the telling Ed to kill himself thing, you can't take that too seriously. I don't mean for him to literally kill himself....although when I think about it, it really wouldn't have any effect on me if he did...... I was just expressing my contempt for Ed. As far as this g.v. moron goes, it's probably just Ed. He either uses multiple computers, or has a resetting i.p. adress that makes his i.p. different every time he turns his cpu on. So g.v/Ed, I plan on moving too Canada, as soon as I have the money to make the move, I'll be there. I don't mind leaving the tyrannical country behind, feel free to keep it. Hopefully I may one day have dual citizenship as well, then I can enjoy the good things left in America, but live hapilly in the Great White North. It's funny that you should jump on Canada about its education when you don't have a clue what you're talking about. As Hab01 pointed out, there are indeed 6 NHL teams in Canada. So Ed, go fvck yourself.

To be honest papapuck, I'm not quite sure how I want to respond to your post. I believe it is our right to use whatever language we wish to when posting. I don't at all feel that it's right to censor any of our comments and I don't believe that cursing is any less intelligent than any other form of communication. I also don't think we should have to say anything that is necessarily nice either, but I do agree with the fact that it should be constructive. For months I've been trying to get people to post constructively. About 5 months ago, this site was full of interesting and constructive posts, but then many of these unregistered jerks (i.e. Ed L Roy) decided to try to stir things up a bit. In fact, there probably wouldn't even be any cursing if it weren't for Ed L Roy's nonsensicle comments. If you look at the beginning of all of the vulgarity on this site, it all began when Ed started flip-flopping during the playoffs. I want you to feel as though your grandson can view these forums, so if you can figure out a way to get these unregistered idiots to stop horassing the rest of us, this site will become less vulgar. If it doesn't happen, I'm sorry, but most of us live in free countries and have the right to say what we wish. My best suggestion (if this site doesn't clean up) is to find a different forum to browse. www.nhlhottopics.tk is a very friendly, very clean, and overall great site if you should get sick of the stuff that goes on here. Good luck, and thanks for being a GOOD and HONEST poster. (Good and Honest; just the opposite of Ed L Roy).

I like this site. It's alot better than the espn boards. Papapuck, on this site, there is rarely vulgar language so you don't have to worry that much. The people are generally respectful until you meet people like Ed but in general, there are no problems.

1980 was definitely the biggest upset. The Czechs had a 3-1 lead and blew it. That was a heartbreaker for the Soviets. It reminds me of how Canada lost to the US in '96. That and Patrick Roy going to the Avs were the two most disappointing moments in Canadian hockey.

Roy going to Colorado was disappointing. I remember I was 13 years old and a friend told me what had happened. The Habs have never fully recovered from that. But I guess it was Roy's time to go. You can tell the Habs really ****** up when guys like Jocelyn Thibault and Jeff Hackett were in goal.
Lidstrom8
September 17th, 2004, 08:51 PM
Bear in mind, Hab01 Roy was the one who forced the trade after the habs were elimiated from the playoffs although montreal could have gotten more talent in return for roy. Jocelyn Thibault was just one of many players of the long list who couldn't preform under the pressure of the montreal fans ( eg. Berezin, Audette, Czerkawski, Rucinsky ) Hopefully, Radek Bonk won't turn out to be the list's newest member.

Ed I am just sick and tired of you, you never have and never will make any sense, and if you haven't noticed you are alone on anything you say.
Right on, Gras. I have been here awhile, and there has been alot of cursing used here(some by me) but its all related to Ed, or the odd moron like him. A nice clean site is what I'd like. Ed and all his altar-egos are ruining it for all of us. Its kinda funny actually Ed, your last post that is, you think your so smart, but your lack of knowledge of the sport you claim to know, is almost comical, it shows you really don't know what your talking about. There are 6 Canadian teams, and 4 AHL teams.
Anybody notice, that for as long as Ed/his alterego-s have been here, he doesn't have the sack to sign up? Ed, I will make this plain and simple, go to h*ll.
I remember watching that Detroit-Montreal game, the coach just left Patrick in net, that game got really ugly, real fast. If I remember correctly, the final score was 9-2.
I guess thats the negative to living in a hockey crased city, some talented players can't take the pressure. How many a talented player, have joined Montreal or Toronto or Detroit, etc. and failed to pan out the way they looked like they coulda.
