CY YOUNG WINNER TOM GLAVINE WAS DRAFTED BY LA KINGS 1984 AND COULD HAVE PLAYED NHL BUT STAYED WITH BASEBALL.

WILLIE O'REE 1ST BLACK NHL PLAYER WENT TO MILWAUKEE BRAVES CAMP BUT ONLY PLAYED BASEBALL TO KEEP LEGS IN SHAPE AS HE WANTED TO PLAY IN NHL.

LARRY WALKER BASEBALL MVP WAS GOALIE IN JUNIORS AND BROTHER PLAYS GOALIE IN AHL.

Manny MacIntyre played Negro League ball and was one of the first blacks signed to the (white) major leagues when he played minor league ball for Sherbrooke of the Border League in 1946.

He also played pro hockey in the old QSHL as part of an all-black forward line with the Carnegie brothers, Herb and Ossie in the 1940s.

If times had been different, there's no question he would have made the NHL. MLB? Who knows?

The closest would have been Kirk McCaskill (son of former pro hockey player Ted McCaskill). Kirk played very briefly in the AHL.
There have been numerous guys who played some minor league ball and then played in the NHL. Clark Gillies and Bob Bourne had tryouts with the Astros.
