I was waiting for Jonathan Quick when he cancelled two hours before a signing event was to take place (sorry, jtyson!). Five minutes later, we get the news about Gagne being traded. A rather eventful morning in L.A.
I then left and went to the Kings practice facility to find, lo and behold, the Detroit Red Wings.
IP:
Pavel Datsyuk - 1 Red Wings puck
Mikael Samuelsson - 1 Red Wings puck with Triple Gold Club inscription. He's on IR-his fingers are jacked up-but he still was able to sign what I requested and he seemed genuinely glad to do it.
and
Henrik Zetterberg - 1 Red Wings puck with Triple Gold Club inscription (he made up for the one I mailed to him in Switzerland where he wrote on the back of the puck instead of the front. 17 out of 26 Triple Gold Club members--missing Gusarov, Jagr, Toews, Fetisov, Shanahan, Sakic, Kamensky, Slegr, and Mogilny)
Finally, RTS: Ron Anderson. The address was correct (Niagara Falls, ON) but it was the wrong player. I am looking for the Ron Anderson who played in the late 1960's in L.A. He was from Red Deer, ON
Brian Benning - 1 Kings puck/card
Nathan Dempsey - 1 Kings puck/Leafs card
Thanks to BruinsFan for his help. I now have 376/595 present & past Kings players on pucks. The goal is to get to 500 by the end of the year.
WoW! Louie.
That's something.
Good luck to you with it.
We all got our collecting directions and goals don't we.
All of these successes today are due to dodgerdon's kindness:
Lubomir Visnovsky - 1 Kings Olympics Poster
Butch Goring - 2 Kings posters (Time Out of Time)
Dan Currie - 1 signed blank puck
Joe Corvo - 1 signed blank puck
Jeff Cowan - 1 signed blank puck
Also, I made a trade with a friend who's local. I got:
Bruce McNall - 1 signed Kings puck
Lonnie Loach - 1 signed Kings puck
Bill Mikkelson - Kings puck/Isles card - 2 months - home address (St. Albert, AB)
Mike Murphy - Kings puck - 2 months - NHL business address (Toronto, ON)
