    Ooops! Dreadful smudge

Ever have big anticipation for a return then you get it back and... smudge and smear city.
Need a little input here gang.
    What do you do?
Do you ever send back to said player with a fresh card and ask if he can try again? Or is that being rude or something??
Do you pull out the white eraser and same coloured sharpie and "doctor it up"?
I'm guessing no on that one, altering a true auto is a no-no right...
Or just throw it in your top loader or binder etc and be happy you finally got a graph from this person.
    Any insight appreciated as always.

I'd give it a little while and try again. There's so many variables in mailing something away that hopefully both sides understand things can go awry.

First off, who is it Polar?

Secondly, if that specific card doesn't have to be the one signed, I would put it in the collection and try again with a different card (giving a bit of time first).

I concur with shelby - just wait awhile and try again. Just make sure to prep the cards before sending. I got alot of cards, both IP and TTM, early in my collecting days that are messed up because I didn't know that you had to prep the glossy cards. Since then I have only had a couple come back smudged, and none of them were too bad. If you need a specific card, I'm sure someone on here can help you or you can buy it elsewhere.

Not really any gloss on these cards Bruin.
It was one of those minor league issue ProCards.
He had a crappy marker probably and maybe just stuffed it in the envelope right away.
More of a smear than a smudge.
A real obscure player Shelb. Larry Floyd.
Probably no one has an extra they can trade me for something.
If not I'll wait awhile and do as you guys suggest and send out another one, if I can find one.
Thanks much for the input as always.

Hey polar, I go to Center Ice Collectibles.com when I'm on the hunt for a minor league card- I've bought a bunch from them. A quick search shows three different Larry Floyd cards for sale.

No worries. S&H is $4 I believe, in Canada, and they charge whatever your provincial tax is. $4's a tad high in my eyes but they ship quickly and I've never had a problem. :)
