Mid-Atlantic Junior Hockey League history and statistics

MAJHL History

The Mid-Atlantic Junior Hockey League was a US Junior hockey league which formed in June 1973. It originally consisted of seven hockey groups in the Delaware Valley and North Jersey area of the US. The first league president was Aaron Siegel. In its first season, six of the seven franchises completed the 30-game schedule. The Ocean Hockey Club was the league champion.

In 1974-75 the league expanded by adding four new teams, divided into a Northern and Southern division. The league continued its 30-game schedule. The Hershey Junior Icers defeated the Junior Flyers to take the league championship.

The league expanded in sophistication in 1975-76 by adding a statistical department and a referee-in-chief, with an emphasis on public relations and press releases.
